Blue & White Dry Cleaners is a family-owned and operated garment care business at the rear of 180 Military Road in Neutral Bay, with entry via Grosvenor Lane. Its story began when Harry Janakis arrived in Sydney from Greece in 1948 wanting to become a master craftsman and run his own family business. He opened the doors at Military Road in 1970, and four generations of the Janakis family have since helped run the shop, guided by his motto of treating customers like family.

The business calls itself the cleaner that other dry cleaners use, and all work is done on site. Its Union and Sankosha machines use a hydrocarbon solvent that is gentle on garments and better for the environment, and the team uses less toxic solvents and recycles where it can. Services include everyday dry cleaning, couture garment care, leather, fur and suede cleaning, and furnishings. Bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses are hand finished, and the in-house tailoring service handles everything from alterations to garment restoration. Regular offers have included shirt and suit bundles.

Customers praise the quick turnaround and suits that come back without a chemical smell. The shop is open Monday to Friday 7.30 am to 6 pm, Saturday 7.30 am to 5 pm and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm.
