Monmouth Coffee Company Covent Garden

Monmouth Coffee Company Covent Garden is the original Monmouth coffee shop, at 27 Monmouth Street near Seven Dials in central London. The company has been making filter coffee here since 1978, when the upstairs section was designed as a tasting room where customers could try different coffees before buying beans.

Monmouth sources and roasts coffee from single farms, estates and cooperatives. Its team travels throughout the year to visit producers, learn about the coffee they grow and process, and build lasting relationships with growers and exporters. All of the coffees can be sampled in the shop, and whole-bean and ground coffee are sold alongside ceramic filter cones, papers and other brewing accessories.

The shop no longer uses paper cups. Coffee can be drunk in ceramic, taken away in your own reusable cup or in one of Monmouth's reusable cups through its cup scheme. Pastries and sweet treats come from Little Bread Pedlar, Notting Hill Bakery, Babelle and Chocolarder, dairy milk from Ivy House Farm, and the non-dairy option is Oatly.

Covent Garden is open Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 7 pm and closed on Sunday, and payments are by card only. Monmouth also has shops in Bermondsey and Borough, and coffee subscriptions are available online.
