Pensacola Opera

Pensacola Opera is a non-profit, professional opera company based at 75 South Tarragona Street in downtown Pensacola, serving opera to Northwest Florida. Through performances and a range of educational and community programmes, it reaches more than 40,000 children and adults each year.

The 2026-2027 season is the company's 44th and features The Falling and the Rising, performed with a veterans chorus, Puccini's Tosca and Donizetti's The Elixir of Love. Alongside the main stage, Pensacola Opera presents special events such as Rock the Runway, a fashion and theatre experience at the Saenger Theatre on 4 November 2026, and free community events including Opera After Dark at UWF Museum Plaza on 23 October 2026.

Education is central to its work. The Jan Miller Studio Artists programme develops young professional singers, and the company runs Opera in Schools, student dress rehearsals, the Overture summer camp and Opera 101 sessions for newcomers.

Community support covers over 60% of operating costs, so the company relies on donors, Friends of the Opera, sponsors and volunteers. It also holds chorus auditions and rents out its facility.
