The Alpaca

The Alpaca is an independent gastro pub at 84-86 Essex Road, Islington, with a love for food and drink and a community-minded nature. It opens Monday from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Thursday from 12:00 PM to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 AM, and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

The pub was born in March 2020 and began by serving the neighbourhood hot meals, ready-made cocktails and wine to take away. That bumpy start helped it get to know its neighbours and become the friendly local it set out to be.

Early in the week The Alpaca is a relaxed local with a fine range of beers, cocktails, wines and non-alcoholic options, suited to a solo lunchtime pint. At weekends it steps up a gear with music you might not hear elsewhere and a grown-up, late-night drinking vibe. The week finishes with its well-known Sunday roasts, cooked from scratch with something for everyone; sharing roast platters are especially popular with groups and families.

The pub prides itself on being inclusive, offers private hire for celebrations, posts upcoming events on its What's On page, and takes table bookings online.
