University of West Florida

The University of West Florida is the public university based at 11000 University Parkway in north Pensacola, where students and alumni are known as Argos. Its catalog lists more than 110 undergraduate and graduate programs, and the university presents itself as offering the resources of a large institution while keeping class sizes small and giving students close contact with faculty.

Study options run from on-campus degrees to UWF Online, and the university supports transfer students who want to finish a bachelor’s degree after starting elsewhere. Military and veteran students are a particular focus: UWF holds a Gold-level designation from Military Friendly Schools and has dedicated resources for service members, which matters in a city closely tied to Naval Air Station Pensacola.
