Walts Brake & More

Walts Brake & More is a family-owned and veteran-operated auto repair shop at 3890 NW Gainesville Road in north Ocala. Despite the name, it is a full-service shop that has served Marion County since 1965, working on cars, trucks, diesel vehicles and RVs of all makes and models, foreign or domestic, for individual drivers, fleet accounts, semis and recreational vehicles. Brake repair and replacement remain a core service, along with engine diagnostics and tune-ups for check engine lights, oil changes and preventive maintenance, suspension and steering repair, and wheel alignment for vehicles that pull to one side or wear tires unevenly. Technicians also repair auto electrical systems, test and replace batteries, fix flat tires, service exhaust systems for emissions concerns, and repair vehicle air conditioning and heating, which matters in the Florida heat. The shop positions itself as an affordable alternative to the dealership, with ASE-certified technicians held to high standards of workmanship. Parts used are covered by the manufacturer's warranty for not less than 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. Customers can request estimates and schedule appointments, and the staff explain the work before and during each repair. The shop is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and closed on weekends.
