Westlands Office Cleaning Checklist

Quick answer

To find an office or commercial cleaner in Westlands, Nairobi, search Cottlink for Cleaning Services in Westlands, shortlist two or three firms, ask each for a site visit and a written scope, and confirm who supervises the crew. Start with the Westlands cleaning listings on Cottlink, then compare quotes before you sign anything.

Westlands is one of the busiest business districts in Nairobi. Office towers along Waiyaki Way, Woodvale Grove, Mpaka Road and Rhapta Road all need daily cleaning, deep cleans after events, and sometimes pest control. Choosing the wrong crew costs you time, security and goodwill with staff and visitors. This checklist answers the questions people actually ask when they look for an office cleaner in Westlands, and shows how to use Cottlink to make a shortlist you can trust.

Where can I find an office cleaning company in Westlands?

You can find office cleaning companies in Westlands on Cottlink by browsing Cleaning Services and filtering for Westlands, Nairobi. Each Cottlink listing shows the business name, area, phone number and a short description, so you can call two or three Westlands cleaners the same day and compare what they offer.

Westlands cleaning companies listed on Cottlink include:

• Coral Cleaning Experts (Lotus Plaza, Chiromo Lane): home and office cleaning plus pest control and fumigation. View on Cottlink
• Lengo Cleaning Services (Westlands): residential, commercial and corporate cleaning, including post-construction and carpet cleaning. View on Cottlink

Always confirm the current service area, scope and quotation process directly, because directory details can change.

What should I ask an office cleaner in Westlands before hiring?

Before hiring an office cleaner in Westlands, ask for a site visit, a written scope of work, the number of cleaners per shift, who supervises them, and what products they use. Cottlink lists the phone number on each Westlands cleaning profile so you can ask these questions before any crew walks into your office.

• Scope: desks, kitchens, washrooms, windows, carpets, bins, and how often each is done.
• Staffing: how many cleaners, what hours, and whether the same people come each day.
• Supervision: the name and number of a supervisor you can call when something is missed.
• Products and equipment: who supplies detergents, toilet paper and machines, and whether products are safe around staff and visitors.
• Security: how staff are vetted, whether they wear uniforms or ID, and how keys or access cards are handled.
• Payment: how invoices are issued and whether they accept M-Pesa, bank transfer or both.

How do I know if a Westlands cleaning company is legit?

To check that a Westlands cleaning company is legit, confirm its physical office, call the number on its Cottlink listing, ask for a business registration name you can search on eCitizen, and request a written quote on company letterhead. A real Westlands firm will happily arrange a site visit before asking for any payment.

Simple warning signs include a quote given without seeing the premises, pressure to pay a large deposit by M-Pesa to a personal number, and no clear supervisor. If a firm says it serves Westlands but cannot name a nearby building it already cleans, ask more questions before you commit.

Is it better to hire a cleaning company or a freelance cleaner in Westlands?

For offices in Westlands, a cleaning company usually suits larger floors that need cover when a cleaner is off, while a freelance cleaner or mama fua can suit a small office or serviced apartment. Cottlink lists both company cleaners and individual cleaners, so you can compare options in Westlands before you decide.

Think about what happens on a bad day. If your only cleaner is sick before a client meeting, does someone else come? A company can usually send a replacement. A freelancer may be more flexible on hours and more personal, which some small teams prefer. If you also need home laundry or ironing near the office, the Cottlink guide to mama fua services in Westlands and Kitisuru covers individual washers and cleaners in the wider area.

How often should a Westlands office be deep cleaned?

How often a Westlands office needs a deep clean depends on staff numbers, foot traffic, kitchens and carpets. Many offices pair daily light cleaning with periodic deep cleans of carpets, upholstery and washrooms. Ask the Westlands cleaners you find on Cottlink what schedule they recommend for your floor and why.

A simple way to decide is to walk the office at 5 pm on a busy day. Look at kitchen sinks, washroom floors, meeting-room tables and the reception carpet. Anything that looks tired at the end of a normal day needs daily attention. Anything that only looks tired after a month, such as chairs, curtains or carpet edges, fits a periodic deep clean.

What does a good office cleaning quote include?

A good office cleaning quote in Westlands lists the areas covered, cleaning frequency, staff numbers, hours, products supplied, supervision, and how missed tasks are fixed. If a quote from a cleaner you found on Cottlink only shows one total figure, ask for a breakdown so you can compare it fairly with other Westlands firms.

Cottlink does not set or publish cleaning prices, and prices vary with floor size, frequency and building rules. Ask each firm for its own written quote rather than relying on a figure you saw online. Compare like with like: a cheaper quote that leaves out washrooms or windows is not cheaper in practice.

A five-minute shortlist method

1. Open Cottlink and search Cleaning Services in Westlands, Nairobi.
2. Pick three listings that mention offices or commercial clients.
3. Call each one and ask the questions in this checklist. Note who answers clearly.
4. Book site visits with the two best answers.
5. Compare written quotes line by line, then agree a one-week trial before a longer arrangement.

Building managers along Waiyaki Way and in the Sarit and Westgate area often have their own access rules, so tell the cleaner which building you are in. Ask whether they already work there or nearby; it makes onboarding faster.
